Care Groups

God never intended us to live our lives alone. We were made for community, both with Him and with other people. Unfortunately, far too many people live with a perpetual feeling of loneliness and disconnection. Even in a crowd. Even in worship services of the church.

Care Groups counteract this tendency by providing us with an opportunity to experience real community—things like genuine fellowship, personal accountability, and relational transparency. A Care Group is a place where we can be open and honest about our sin. A place where we can know and be known. A place to work out practical applications of the biblical teaching we receive on Sunday. A place where sin meets grace and need meets supply.

How important are Care Groups to Parker Hills? Put it this way: we don’t just offer care groups as another ministry of our church; rather, we are the church by means of care groups. The Scriptures describe the church as much more than simply a Sunday preaching station. It is a community, a family, an organic body with mutually supportive parts.

Please contact Rod Fertig, the church office, or one of the elders if you are interested in joining an existing group or forming a new one.

MONDAY NIGHT LADIES BIBLE STUDY
Winter Break – This precept study will start back up in January studying Genesis

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LADIES BIBLE STUDY

REFRESHED
Philemon 1:7

“For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been REFRESHED through you.”

Our goal is to inspire the women of our congregation through fellowship to preach the gospel to each other and those around them. We will be meeting once a quarter. We do service projects, congregational care projects, crafts and sometimes just fun fellowship activities and field trips. All ladies high school ages and above are always welcome. We hope to see you at an event soon!

MEAL MINISTRY
If there is a birth, a medical problem, or some emergency, we will help with meals or errands.

Men’s Groups

Wednesday Bible Study
Join us in our study through Acts at either 6:30 am or 6:30 pm.

This study is a verse-by-verse, conversational examination of a passage from the Bible. We take turns moderating the discussion because we believe that every man should develop in his ability to lead others in a study of God’s Word. Our discussion format provides an opportunity to mutually teach each other.

Philosophy
The goal of our Youth Ministry is to instill in young people a realization that nothing even comes close to the surpassing value of knowing Jesus Christ the Lord. (Phil 3:8-10) We pursue this end through weekly meetings where we study the Word of God and build each other up in fellowship as well as activities through which we seek to reach out to those in our community.

Wednesday
6:30 – 8:30 PM – Senior High and Middle School Youth Groups

Children

Philosophy
While we believe that parents have primary responsibility before God for the spiritual nurture of their children, we also want to forge a strong partnership between parents and our church.

We encourage interaction between all age groups as something of great value for relationship, discipleship, encouragement, and unity.

Curriculum
Through age-appropriate teaching in safe environments, children will explore the Bible and discover more about our great God.

We endeavor to teach the children to know Christ and understand His Gospel. We are currently using the curriculum The Gospel Project.

Church Membership

Church membership is the difference between going to church and being the church. We believe membership is an integral part of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It is also a great privilege with great responsibilities, both for the whole church to each member and for each member to the whole church.

Deacons

  • You’ll have a deacon assigned to you as one point of contact if you have a question or a need for yourself or another member.  You can contact any deacon.

Elders

  • An elder will plan to visit you once a year but welcome questions or conversation any time.  All elders are “your” elders.
Church Directory

  • Smartphone:  Get the app from ChurchCenter or your standard app store, then create a password
  • PC:  From ChurchCenter, log in and then use the directory
  • If you would like your directory information changed, let the office know

Interested in Membership?

We believe the New Testament demonstrates church membership so we ask those interested in joining the church to take our Membership Matters class.  We share our church history, our statement of faith, and how we function as a church.

Contact an elder or sign up for the next Membership Matters class.
