Josh Waltz

I’ve been pastoring at Parker Hills since June 2007. Before that, I was the Student Minister at Berean Baptist Church in Livonia, Michigan, for about 10 years. I earned an MDiv at Southern Seminary and a couple other degrees at Maranatha Baptist University. I’m currently a chaplain with the Parker Police Department and an instructor with the Charles Simeon Trust. My wife, Aundrea, and I have 5 kids, 2 cats, 3 dogs, and about 12 chickens, all of whom bring us joy and blessing in one form or another except the cats.
Karl Peterson

I married a nurse from Seattle and in 1995, Glynn and I headed to Africa for the next twenty-two years. In Mozambique, we planted two churches, developed a literature and conference ministry, and I directed a Bible training institute in the capital city. Later we moved with our six children to Cape Town, South Africa where I served on faculty at the Bible Institute of South Africa.
Glynn and I continue to serve under the mission agency Christian Missions in Many Lands where I teach online and in-person courses at BISA, coordinate the leadership conferences in Mozambique, and teach short courses in two Bible colleges in Zambia. Among other elder duties, I work closely with our adult Bible classes and children’s ministries. The great privilege of serving as an elder is watching the dear people of PHBF journey through life in the grace of Christ.

James Oliver

I was raised in a Christian home and came to faith at an early age. At nine, I realized I was a sinner and recommitted my life to Jesus. Soon after, I was baptized. While attending the University of Illinois and during a year-long internship following graduation, my faith became my own through the fellowship of students and staff in the Campus Crusade for Christ ministry.
On the career front, I’m a geek at heart with a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and have been riding the information technology wave for years.
I married the love of my life, Rachel, in 2010 and we have two incredible daughters, Reagan (10) and Evelyn (5), who bring great joy and lots of giggles to our home. Our family has been privileged to serve as foster parents since 2017, opening our hearts and home to many amazing children. We moved to Parker from Denver in 2016, and three years later began attending Parker Hills Bible Fellowship. I am honored to serve as an elder, small group leader, and Sunday school teacher within this body of believers.

I was raised by wonderfully solid Christian parents and came to Christ at a young age. We came
to Parker Hills when I was just going into high school and I grew up here. It was in the middle of
high school that I began taking my faith seriously as something other than my parents faith.
Once I reached adulthood I began to love this church as my own and not just as my parents
church. I am always encouraged by the teaching and always feel loved and welcomed by the
body. I met my husband here and one of our greatest joys is serving in the youth group at
church. It has been so sweet to step into the role of Office Administrator as I’ve been able to
pour my time and energy into the wellbeing of the church functions. Outside of work I love being
outside, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
Rachel Oliver

Hello, I’m Rachel — and I’m so glad you’re here! Since 2019, I’ve had the joy of serving as the Children’s Ministry Director at PHBF. As a former foster parent, mom of two, and counseling graduate student, I’m passionate about helping kids feel seen, loved, and excited to know and follow Jesus in a real and personal way. I love teaching, encouraging, and goofing off with kids of all ages, and I believe meaningful relationships are where children grow best in both confidence and faith. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Outside of ministry and schooling, I enjoy spending time with my husband, James, our sweet daughters, Reagan and Evelyn, and our 100+ pound Rottweiler, Max. Oh, and I do lots of laundry.
Sarah Klopp

Hello! I’m Sarah Klopp, and it is a joy and privilege to serve in the Children’s Ministry here at
Parker Hills.
I was blessed to grow up in a home where Jesus was known, loved, and faithfully followed. I
trusted Christ as my Savior at an early age, and God nurtured my faith through Scripture
memory, singing Scripture songs, and careful, word-by-word study of the Bible.
I delight in the fact that God wants to be known—and He can be found! One of my greatest
desires is to help others—especially children—know the loving heart of their Heavenly
Father and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Professionally, I work as a GI nurse at a local hospital, where I have the privilege of caring
for patients and serving my community.
My husband, Ben, and I are blessed with three wonderful boys. As a family, we love
spending time outdoors—growing roses and flowers, catching bugs, digging in the dirt, and
tent camping in the mountains.
Whether at church, at work, or at home, my desire is to glorify the Lord and point others to
the love, grace, and hope found in Jesus Christ.
Connor Parkinson

Although not technically a Colorado native, I have spent most of my life here, and
attending college in California (The Master’s University) confirmed that Colorado is my
home. My wife, Anna, was born and raised in Alaska, but happily joined me in the lower
48 when we were married in 2017. We have three children (Moriah, Caleb, and Jubilee)
and open our home through foster care.
I came to faith in Jesus Christ in my teens through the influence of youth and camp
ministries, which sparked a desire to invest in young people. I spent many summers, as
well as the first year out of college, working at Camp Elim. Since 2017, I have had the
privilege of serving as the Youth Minister at Parker Hills. In 2022, I left a career in
finance to join the church staff full-time and began leading the music ministry at PHBF. I
remain deeply grateful for the role Parker Hills has played in my life, helping me grow as
a disciple of Jesus and a minister of the gospel.
